[BREAKING] Wild video shows massive brawl on river sandbar: ‘The water and drinking don’t mix’

Wild video shows dozens of people, mostly shirtless men, exchanging blows in an alcohol-fueled brawl on a river sandbar.

Five men and one woman have been arrested for the out-of-control brawl in the middle of the Congaree River in Calhoun County, South Carolina, that left three people with “severe” injuries, police said.

“Water and drinking don't mix,” Calhoun County Sheriff Thomas Summers told WIS-TV, confirming that alcohol was a factor, and that several were also known to be underage drinkers.

"Seeing so many people swinging and fighting could have been very, very bad, and I'm sure there are injuries we haven't heard about.

That's just the nature of that kind of beast." Explanation-laden video from the sandbar shows men in swimsuits and women in bikinis exchanging shoves and punches, and even one man being picked up and thrown to the ground.

Several boats can be seen parked along the sandbar as other passersby filmed the chaos.

All three injured people suffered swollen eyes and other head injuries, Summers said, emphasizing, "The injuries were serious." The June 6 melee occurred during the Sparkleberry Duck Run, an annual event during which people can set up tents and boats along the river, according to WIS-TV.

On Thursday, the sheriff's office announced it had arrested five men and one woman allegedly involved in the fight.

Those arrested were identified as Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzel and Taylor Knudson.
