[BREAKING] Grieving dad of NY kids killed in grandma, mom’s murder-suicide, says murderers deserve ‘special place in hell’
“I knew my children had been murdered,” she told News10 on Tuesday, reacting to the heartbreaking event.
“And then I know those two were the ones who did it.” Three of Brady Harmon's children, Harper, 13, Hudson, 11, and Gracelynn, 10, were poisoned. Gavin Harmon, 10, was stabbed while trying to defend himself, according to Rabbitt.
"My kids suffered," Brady Harmon told WRGB.
“To poison them and also to stab them, there is a special place in hell for people like that.” Brady Harmon, who had been embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with his ex-wife Myers, lives in Utah and had not seen his children in person since November 2019.
His children were supposed to spend the summer in the Beehive State before they were murdered.
Investigators revealed Tuesday that they found a note written by Steadman that said "the perpetrator accepts responsibility for what occurred and states that they believed killing the children was the only way to keep them safe from alleged abuse in Utah." Police also found letters they suspect were written by Myers where he also claimed his children had been abused.
"Although those writings were unsigned, the author repeatedly referred to 'my babies,' expressed anger toward Utah's family court system, made accusations that she and the children had been abused while living in Utah, and complained that she had been unable to obtain legal representation," Rabbitt told reporters.
“Regardless of what [Myers and Steadman] believed justified their actions, the deliberate murder of four children cannot be described as protection,” he criticized.
Brady Harmon has categorically denied the allegations and Rabbitt revealed that police could independently verify the claims.
Harmon had previously claimed that Steadman did not want him to see his children.
Rabbitt revealed that Steadman had visited several pharmacies in the days leading up to the June 10 murders and had messaged his daughter about the sadistic plot.
The text messages included “discussions about obtaining medications, where the murders would occur, how those medications would be administered, how the children would be gathered, what they would be told, and how suspicion could be avoided,” according to the police chief.
"In one exchange, Sarah Myers instructed Amy Steadman that the medications needed to be administered between 10:30 a.m.
and noon so she could finish them before a scheduled 6 p.m.
phone call with the children's father," Rabbitt said.
Later that morning, "because the children did not respond the way Steadman and Myers had anticipated," one of the women texted the other saying, "'It's not working.
We need another option,'" Rabbitt said.
Gracelynn complained that her stomach hurt, prompting Steadman to text her daughter: "Gracie is conscious." Investigators reviewed Steadman's Internet history, where they found several disgusting searches.
He investigated reactions to medications, and subsequent searches included "Where is the deadliest place to be stabbed?", which produced results on a specific artery as well as the
