[BREAKING] South Carolina personal trainer goes missing, last spotted walking toward wooded area

South Carolina police have released new photos and details in their search for a woman who went missing last week.

Elena Katherine Moore, 39, has not been seen since leaving a Planet Fitness gym in Lexington, a suburb west of Columbia, on Thursday night, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Authorities said Moore checked into Planet Fitness around 6:40 p.m.

and was then seen walking away from the facility toward a wooded area behind a nearby Lowe's Home Improvement store.

Police said Tuesday afternoon that newly obtained video shows Moore walking through the Publix parking lot at 100 Old Cherokee Road on Thursday.

The video shows her walking toward Old Cherokee Road at 9:17 p.m.

m., police said, wearing the same olive green zip-up hoodie and black sweatpants she was seen wearing leaving Planet Fitness.

Police said they are releasing new photos of Moore to increase the likelihood that someone will recognize her and remember finding her in recent days.

Those newly released photos include images that were captured on a front door camera a week before Moore disappeared.

Moore works as a personal trainer and her sudden absence is "very out of character," police told ABC News.

Lauren Beasley, a friend of Moore, told Fox News Digital that she last spoke to the missing woman a month ago and recalled that she seemed completely normal.

"She didn't say anything personal about what was going on.

She got married last year, but she didn't say anything about her relationship or job or anything personal," Beasley said.

Beasley added that Moore stopped posting on social media about a month ago, which is not normal.

“She is very active on social media, so it is unusual for her to be silent on the radio for the last month,” he said.

Moore's husband, Brannon Slice, said in a comment on a now-deleted Facebook post that his wife is "not feeling well." On Friday, investigators deployed a drone and conducted a preliminary search of the area where Moore was last seen, but found no sign of her.

Missy Silcox, public information officer for the Lexington Police Department, told Fox News Digital that no foul play is suspected and said there are no searches planned for Moore on Tuesday.

On Monday, Lexington police joined several local and state agencies in an expanded search of wooded areas behind the Lowe's store and Planet Fitness.

The operation was assisted by the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Department of Natural Resources and other emergency response agencies.

Police emphasized that the search was not a recovery effort but a methodical attempt to eliminate a possible location where Moore could be.

"No trace of Ms.

Moore was found during the operation," Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said in an update.

Moore is described as a white woman who is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing an olive green hoodie and black sweatpants.

Investigators said they are not sure if she has her cell phone.

Authorities asked anyone with information about Moore's whereabouts to contact detectives at 803-358-7271 or Midlands Crimestoppers.
