Embattled “Elf” star Faizon Love revealed Friday in a Florida court that he is completely broke, has no permanent home, drives an old car and relies on a friend to cover his expenses.
Lawyers for the 58-year-old actor, who was booked into Hillsborough County on Tuesday on an outstanding warrant, argued in court that he has fallen on hard times since appearing in the Will Ferrell-directed blockbuster, 10 Tampa Bay News reported.
Love is facing two counts of contempt of court stemming from a child support case, according to TMZ, which reported that his ex, Tiffany Lee, claims she is $250,000 behind.
The “Couple’s Retreat” star has claimed that she has not earned a single cent in the last 12 months and that her highest annual income in the last five years was just $13,000, the outlet reported.
The actor insisted in court papers earlier this year that he could not pay the $250,000 he allegedly owed.
His lawyer noted that he was homeless, drove a 1999 car and had no savings.
