[BREAKING] Husband accused of killing wife on wedding night brought back to US after years on the run in Mexico

A Mexican man who had been on the run for more than a decade before being arrested in his native country last year for allegedly killing his wife on their wedding night in Illinois has been returned to the United States, the FBI said Thursday.

Arnoldo Jiménez was brought back to the United States more than a year after being captured on January 30, 2025, by Mexican authorities working with US law enforcement in Monterrey, Mexico.

At the time he was arrested, he was the fourth most wanted fugitive in the United States.

"Thursday marks an important milestone for [the Chicago FBI]: our staff has successfully brought the FBI's most wanted fugitive, Arnoldo Jimenez, back from Mexico," the FBI said in a statement posted to X.

"No matter how much time has passed or where a criminal may be in the world, the FBI will never stop in our pursuit of justice." "Thursday marks an important milestone for [the Chicago FBI]: our staff has successfully brought the FBI's most wanted fugitive, Arnoldo Jimenez, back from Mexico," the FBI said in a statement posted to X.

"No matter how much time has passed or where a criminal may be in the world, the FBI will never stop in our pursuit of justice." Authorities have not revealed the motive for the murder or the date of his first court appearance.
