A Florida man was arrested this week after shocking video showed him fleeing a traffic stop, crashing into another car and abandoning a child while fleeing sheriff's deputies.
On Tuesday, police attempted to stop Jason Kenon, 24, who was driving with an adult passenger and two children ages 1 and 4, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Kenon, who had multiple active warrants for his arrest, sped away and was seen weaving through traffic lanes in Orlando.
Deputies on the ground followed Kenon by car, while a sheriff's helicopter kept his vehicle in sight.
Aerial video from the helicopter showed Kenon trying to avoid a black pickup truck at a stop sign before crashing into its rear.
He continued driving after that, according to video provided by the sheriff's office.
Kenon proceeded to stop in a residential neighborhood and let the adult passenger and the 1-year-old child out of the car.
Officers noted that the 4-year-old attempted to exit the vehicle but was unable to do so before Kenon stepped on the accelerator again.
Kenon then stopped near a building, got out of the car and took the child out of the back seat.
The boy followed Kenon as he fled from police.
Eventually, Kenon ran down an alley, took off his shoes and then began running barefoot in the opposite direction of the boy, leaving him behind, according to the video.
A wanted suspect fled from deputies on June 9, driving recklessly through Orange County with two young children inside the vehicle.
After officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled while our helicopter maintained visual contact from above.

Two police cars had already approached and the officers ordered him to get on the ground.
Another officer retrieved the child nearby, who was crying and holding Kenon's shoes.
Neither child was injured, the sheriff's office said.
According to court records, Kenon faces seven charges, including aggravated fleeing and eluding, two counts of child neglect, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.
In December 2025, Kenon was sentenced to 94 days in jail by an Osceola County judge for burglary of a building and felony third-degree grand larceny.
It is unclear what active warrants the Orange County Sheriff's Office was pursuing Kenon for during this incident.
