“Elf” actor Faizon Love will make his first appearance in a Florida court on Friday after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Love, 58, faces two counts of contempt of court stemming from a child support case, according to TMZ, which reported that his ex, Tiffany Lee, claims she is $250,000 behind.
Love has claimed poverty as the reason for the alleged lack of payment, the outlet reported, saying he earned just $13,000 in gross income over the past five years and $0 in 2025.
The “Friday” actor was handcuffed Tuesday and is being held without bail at the Hillsborough County Jail, appearing in a mugshot looking emaciated and stony-faced after his arrest.
Love has had several previous run-ins with authorities, including several arrests for assault.
In 2017, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge for an on-camera assault on a valet at John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio, for which he received a $500 fine and a 180-day suspended jail sentence.
Last year he was charged with felony assault after allegedly throwing a credit card machine at the head of a San Diego hotel employee after she told him the hotel could not provide her with the room she had reserved.
Love has appeared in dozens of films, including “The Replacements” and “Couples Retreat.”
