[BREAKING] Boy, 10, fighting for his life after being hit by two cars while riding his bike

A 10-year-old Florida boy is fighting for his life after being hit by two cars while riding his bike, and his heartbroken mother is now clinging to hope as he remains in a coma.

Asher Thompson is in a drug-induced coma at St.

Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa after riding his bike in traffic last Friday on State Road 52, where he was hit by a vehicle, which pushed him into the path of a second car, which also hit him, WFLA reported.

Asher's devastated mother, Jackie Almeida, said she is desperate for a miracle.

“All I can really do now is pray for a miracle, because the doctor said there's nothing else they can do,” she said, the outlet reported, noting that if Asher woke up, doctors warned he would need full-time care and would never be able to live on his own.

"I literally had to leave and while the doctors were talking to me, I went into the bathroom and screamed at God, 'help me like there's nothing else you can do.

I can't lose him.'" Almeida said she was at work when the accident occurred and a witness contacted her before paramedics arrived.

He added that the caller performed CPR on his unresponsive son, and first responders later revived him, the outlet reported.

The heartbroken mother doesn't know why her son ran into traffic, but said the boy was with his brother when an incident occurred at a nearby gas station shortly before the accident.

“There was an incident and I don't know all the details, but Asher got scared and ran away, jumped on his bike and took off,” Almeida said.

“I wasn't even thinking.” The Florida Highway Patrol said none of the drivers involved in the collision were charged, the outlet reported.

Almeida, who has remained by her little one's side, does not blame those behind the wheel.

“They have to live with that for the rest of their lives and I feel really bad for them,” she said.

"But it's not their fault.

It's not.

It's no one's fault.

It sucks that things like this happen, you just never think it's going to happen to you, you know?" Almeida added, stressing that she cannot live without her son.

"I keep reminding him that he is the strongest, bravest boy I know and that he is not fighting alone.

Like we are all here.

God has him and he should not give up."
